Hattie’s Preschool is now a five-star rated Step Up to Quality program. SUTQ is a voluntary quality rating system administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. It recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality benchmarks which exceed the minimum health, educational and safety licensing standards. The five-star rating is the highest rating a program can achieve.

“Our staff is proud to have received this rating and to be recognized as a high quality program for the children and families we serve,” said Julie Lowe, director of community programming at Hattie Larlham.

Hattie’s Preschool is a year-round program for children ages three to five years old. To achieve the five-star rating, a program must meet several requirements and standards including low staff to child ratios, high education qualifications for administrators and teachers and complete assessments to evaluate and improve the learning experience.

Hattie’s Preschool is a Hattie Larlham program, a nonprofit organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The preschool is inside the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua, Ohio. Services are available to children with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Hattie’s Preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family services. The program follows the HighScope Preschool Curriculum.
