Hattie Larlham celebrates 55th anniversary at Circle of Caring Gala

On Sat., Nov. 5, Hattie Larlham hosted the 16th annual Circle of Caring at the Bertram Inn & Conference Center in Aurora. Presented by The Alpha Group for the eighth year in a row, the event celebrated Hattie Larlham’s 55th anniversary. Sponsors, donors and more than 200 guests raised $172,000 to benefit programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Betsy Kling, WKYC-TV Channel 3 News Chief Meteorologist and 2012 Circle of Caring honoree, returned as the evening’s emcee. Since 2004, Kling has been an avid supporter of Hattie Larlham, hosting previous Circle of Caring galas as well as supporting Hattie Harlham’s mission throughout the years.

The Circle of Caring featured a VIP and cocktail reception hosted by Kathy Sanniti, Director of Women and Children’s Ambulatory and Community Acute Care Services at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital and her husband, Carl.

Circle of Caring featured live, silent and fund-the-future auctions hosted by Rob Telecky. The fund-the-future auction supported Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities renovations. Guests raised their paddles, making donations to support the expansion of respite and short-term health care services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The event included live entertainment by pianist Christopher Milo, a green screen photo booth, a cocktail reception, dinner and a wine pull.
